THIS OLD CLEAVER WAS USED IN OUR BUTCHER SHOP TO SPLIT HOGS AND BEEF UNTIL THE 1950's WHEN WE FINALLY GOT AN ELECTRIC SPLITTER. IT ORIGINALLY HAD WOOD SLAB HANDLES WRAPPED TIGHTLY WITH CORD LIKE THE OLD STYLE HEAVY CHALK LINE. (WOULD BE EASY TO REPLACE) IT NEVER HAD A RIVETED HANDLE. I HAVE CLEANED MOST OF THE SURFACE RUST OFF AND AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICS, THE HANDLE HAS MOST OF THE RUST PITTING. THERE'S ONE SMALL NICK ON THE BLADE.
IT'S A NICE BIG CLEAVER MARKED #14 MEANING A 14" BLADE, AND IT'S 31" LONG OVERALL. PLEASE CHECK OUT ALL THE PICTURES AS THESE ARE PART OF OUT DESCRIPTION.
