Cutco's history extends to 1948 and was closely tied to Case. Cutco's parent company, Wear-Ever, formed a joint venture with Case and this relationship remained until ALCAS bought W. Case's interest in the early 1970's. Their kitchen knives are legendary and remain very popular.Their sporting knives are really exceptional and are hard to beat for quality and performance. Also owns Kabar and the facilities are co-located in Olean, New York. And then there's their guarantee... The new owner will be covered by the Cutco Forever Guarantee.

Yes, their knives have always been expensive, but with Cutco it's definitely a case of you get what you pay for. The knife has seen no use and remains in solid, original condition with no problems. It has not been refurbished and remains original. Most, if not all of Cutco's hunting knives were offered with stainless steel blades. This is the only Cutco model I've seen with a carbon steel blade. This model is commonly found with significant pitting, but this example is free of any corrosion and has some very minor pitting at the tip of the blade. The thick blade was nicely ground and has a slightly recurved edge. The spine is free of any of the dings, dents, or mushrooming that's common to this model. The blade has been factory sharpened and the edge remains very nice. It's free of any nicks, chips, or damage, as is the tip. Handle is of Cutco's molded thermo-resin material and is one of the most comfortable and versatile handles I've experienced. Even folks who are unfamiliar with Cutco will usually sing the praises of the handle before anything else. The handle is free of any cracks, chips, or gouges and remains rock-solid and completely tight. The pommel is of aluminum and remains solid and tight as well.
The knife has a 5" blade and measures 10-1/4" in overall length. The leather sheath is the original and is of excellent quality. It features a full-length wrap-around flap that protects the handle. It's free of damage with no wear.
