For the age the knife is in superb condition. The wood handle is the best I've ever seen. No cracks that I can see, the wood is hardly worn at all, the collar is still shiny, and the over 14 blade has half the patina that other knives have of the same era. This knife was hardly used. The rat tale nut at the rear of the knife is perfect.
No spine dents that I can see all I see is some corrosion. All it states on blade is "France". Blade is solid with the handle.I looks like this knife was pushed to the rear of the drawer and forgotten about. Blade has a nice carbon'ping' sound when tapping it with your finger. AOL length: 19 7/8 with 2 5/8' wide at the hilt. Guessing the era to be about WWI. Blade still has original sharpness. Please see all photos for they are the best description of condition.
