Vintage LAMSON & GOODNOW 6766 Carbon Steel Chef Knife w/RAZOR SHARP 10.5 Blade. Look over this excellent heavy large chef's knife by Lamson & Goodnow, made in Massachusetts sometime in the early-mid 20th Century.
It is made of carbon steel with a blade that's wider and heavier than most knives of this kind. Lamson Goodnow was also a producer of some VERY fine cutlery of every description for the U. Navy throughout the company's history. This excellent old Lamson example will be a real benefit to any serious user as well as any collector. Its large curved carbon steel blade made with a full and tapered tang, brass riveted over solid walnut handles, with a superb vintage patina overall and functionally of 100%.
Its makers mark is stamped into the piece, reading, "MADE IN US BY" (over the logo) & LAMSON &'GOODNOW, MFG. Along with the company's anchor logo inside an outline of the continental USA. Carbon steel blades of this vintage can hold a razor's edge like no other and I have little doubt it could still do more than its share of butchering of game or livestock.
Wonderful old butcher knife comes with a 10.5" blade (16" overall length) and just 2 wide at its widest.
